Despite Club Med pulling out of the resort management, the luxury Kakome Bay Resort looks to still go ahead.  The EUR40 million project will continue to be constructed by the original developer.

Construction has already started and the site is very secure.  The ongoing dispute with a local nearby village has delayed the project since 2005, but since the court ruled in favour of the developer, the locals have been leaving the site alone.

The resort management will be delegated to a world-wide top class luxury hotel chain operator.  Completing in 3-4 years the project will offer major job opportunities for the area, as well as providing a luxury holiday destination in the south of Albania.
